I've heard that The Wire is a great show, and was excited to find it in the Blind mice movie vault. However when I downloaded the Zip file, I got an extraction error, and another time I tried to download it, Sendspace wanted to install ILivid which is a Video playing app of some sort.
Does anyone know of a virus-free way of obtaining The Wire with Audio Description?
Thanks,
Matthew
Solo-DX is selling the description tracks for episodes 1 through 5 of the Wire. If you're not familiar with Solo-dx, they sell audio tracks which contain just the descriptions for tv shows and movies. You must then sync up the audio with what you're watching. I've not tried the Wire, but their descriptions for The Walking Dead are quite good. You can find them at solo-dx.com
Sorry I can't help with descriptions but:

This guy does an amazing job of describing the show in detail, touching on meta, character studies among other things. I've learned so much from reading this blog.
No show can ever, ever compare to The Wire. David Simon is truly, truly a brilliant man.
wow, i've never heard of this show! What's it about?
Thde show discusses the drug trade in Baltimore.
DHS Darcy,
I've heard of SoloDX, do you know whether they have the rest of the description for the rest of the show (seasons 1-4?)
Thanks,
Matthew
Torico, Thanks for the link, I'l check it out.
Try again with blind mice mega mall's sendspace links. I was able to download all 5 seasons.
Roxtar, Thanks, Did that yesterday and everything worked. Apparently I clicked the wrong link. I found an undescribed episode in Season 1. Do you think that the Wire can be understood well without audio-description? Or should I contact an organization like ITFC to audio-describe it?
Just finished Season 1 and am now hooked.
I'd recommend this to anyone who likes deep tv or cop shows.
Be forewarned, the entire scope of the show changes season-to-season.
Did you have a favorite episode from S1?
Ep12 was pretty intense (though I still don't get whether Stringer shot Wallace, or whether it was suicide, since I think wallace put the gun in his mouth. Also the plot completely took a turn when Kima got show, an intense episode as well. I'm loving the show, I just feel like I'm not understanding everything the first time through and that there's more than meets the eye.
